Each of the candle holders has a milk glass holder (bobeche) and there is another at the base post of the chandelier. Please come and see this exquisite little gem in person since our wiring in these photos is distracting to say the least! This mid-century modern (1960's era), Danish made, ceiling fixture still looks perfect in today's contemporary decor. It also adapts beautifully for compact fluorescent globes (shown in the fixture here), which provide a cool, bright white light over your table or work surface. The support for the fixture, and the shade supports are teak wood. The lamp shades are frosted white glass. Coolness! Here is another mid-century modern ceiling fixture for your contempory home. This one comes with a spare glass shade in addition to the ones shown in the fixture. Art Deco slip shade fixtures with original shades are rare and desirable. This one is branded Electrolier. It has a fixed center post and a total drop of 13", suitable for today's lower ceilings. The fixture is about 16" wide. The original glass shades are in good condition and provide soft ambient light. Here is an impressive crystal chandelier with almost 2800 individual prisms (cut lead crystal, not plastic). It has a drop of 42" when installed and width of about 30". There are 16 individual lights in the fixture; 6 outside candles, 10 interior lights (6 in the center, 3 at the top and one at the bottom). This fixture is heavy and needs strong support at the ceiling canopy. The chandelier provides plenty of light for a high lobby, and it may have commercial applications for a restaurant or ball room. This chandelier is a large item, and cannot be shipped. Local pick up at our shop or delivery within the Greater Toronto Area only please. This pretty frosted glass ceiling fixture dates from the Art Deco era. The glass is actually in two pieces, the lower one supporting the upper disc by means of the three chains which attach to the ceiling bell. The glass has an attractive geometric design which diffuses the light nicely, and lacey edges. The glass is about 13" across and the fixture has a drop of about 7". The white ceiling bell could be painted to blend in with your ceiling color. Here is a flush-mount ceiling chandelier with traditional spear crystals in four tiers. It has three lights inside. It is completed by the nickel silver top gallery band, complete with little flower accents. It is 16" long. This is a beautiful Arts and Crafts fixture made of brass with four slag glass shades in a caramel color. Perfect for your mission or bungalow decor. A repair to the bottom of the brass post is noted. This large and unusual lampshade takes the form of a flowerbasket. It dates from the 1920's and measures 10" across x 9" high. We have suspended it by means of an early brass ceiling cap and chain. This would make a great hall fixture, or it would provide charming ambient light for a bedroom or conservatory. Here is a vintage fixture from the 1950's in original glass and chrome which has current style appeal. It goes well with modern stainless steel and chrome appliances and provides plenty of task light for the kitchen. It fits flush to the ceiling. As with all our fixtures, it has been rewired to current standards. This is a substantial hall fixture made in the Gothic lace style, of iron and nickel plated brass. The fixture has all of its original elements including the decorative end finial and hammered-finish ceiling canopy. The total drop of this fixture is 36". It is quite heavy. This little hall fixture dates from 1905 to 1910 era. The bent milkglass panels are encased in decorative filigree overlay. The fixture is completed with dark metal chain and ceiling cap. Perfect for hall or ambient lighting. Here is a classical vintage fixture made of solid brass and decorated on the center post and ceiling canopy with the timeless Greek Key design. The fixture is completed by three etched lamp shades. As shown, the total drop is about 25" and width about 22". Here is an unusual mid-century modern ceiling fixture for your contempory or retro home. The fixture consists of three hanging, illuminated, pendant lamp shades which provide a total drop of 30". The lamp shades are made of frosted white glass with a black metal overlay. There are colored lucite "jewels" set into the metal overlay. One of the glass shades has a minor flake at one edge. Very cool! For loft or apartment dwellers and other very cool people, we have a set of caramel slag glass and aluminum light fixtures, dating from the 1960's probably. The fixtures feature flower shaped globes (lotus or tulip like), consisting of caramel slag glass petals which are movable on brass posts. The petals are attached at the tops to an aluminum frame. The first fixture is a pair of the flower-shaped globes on chain drops from a single ceiling bell, having a total drop length of about 43". The second fixture is a single globe which is flush-mounted to the ceiling for a total drop of 8". These two flush-mount Arts and Crafts ceiling fixtures are perfect for rooms with standard 8 feet ceiling heights, and they are especially suited for mission or Spanish style decor. The first (Item CF117 - photo at left) has a textured copper finish with two stylized floral details. The diameter is 10". This fixture takes two direct mount chandelier bulbs. The second fixture (CF116 - two photos at right) is also about 10" in diameter. It is made of hammered brass metal with iron straps in a somewhat gothic style. This fixture has attractive socket holders which take three chandelier bulbs which hang from short lengths of chain. Here in our photo, the fixture is lying on a flat surface. This is a dramatic fixture when installed, with interesting surface texture and detail. As always, these fixtures have new electrics which conform to North American standards. This pretty Italian ceramic and brass chandelier has intense blue floral accents, unusual in lighting. It would be perfect in a bedroom or bathroom, or over the table in a smaller home. Here is a five arm, solid brass, vintage chandelier complete with crystals. This type of ceiling fixture is one of our best sellers, probably because it gives a rich look for the home, without being too "over the top". The vintage fixture is now safely rewired and ready to install. It measures about 18" in diameter and as shown, has a drop of 24". This can be lengthened to suit. This period Art Deco slipshade fixture has five upturned glass shades, and one downfacing glass center piece. Inside the decorative centerpost is a thick tube of marbled amber bakelite. The amber bakelite is repeated in the decorative finial at the bottom of the fixture. The fixture has a switch which allows you to have all globes lit, or just the bottom center glass panel lit for a night light. The fixture has its original ceiling canopy bell, and like all of our vintage fixtures, has been rewired to today's standards. Something like this does not come along every day - it is very special. This late Art Deco fixture is made of chrome-plated metal with a pressed glass ball separator in the center post. Each of the five arms carries an upturned milk glass shade. The fixtures is completed by its original chrome ceiling bell and chain. We have a pair of these pretty late 1940's floral tole-painted light fixtures. Here we show just one. The other fixture is identical, except that it is missing its original ceiling cap. We could supply matching ceiling caps if a matched pair is required. The fixtures have a drop of about 22" and are about 14" wide. They feature orange day lilies with green leaf fronds and three candle lights. They are missing paint here and there which you may expect with older fixtures. They have a very pretty vintage look and would look stunning in a conservatory or garden room. Rare in this size and condition, this beautiful Art Nouveau hall fixture will grace any century home. The fixture as shown has a drop of 25" but could be shortened a bit by removing some chain links. The shade itself measures 9" long and is 6" across each base side. Note the details of the stamped brass filigree which decorates the shade frame. This is a charming, small, Art Deco hall fixture which fits flush to the ceiling. It is made of aluminum, and it has a decorative glass slip shade which gives a soft glow when the fixture is illuminated. Here is an Art Deco chandelier with five arms, each with an upturned custard glass lampshade. The photos show the chandelier off to show the nice metal detail, and on to show the pleasing serene look of this chandelier. This fixture is a late Art Deco (1940's) five arm chandelier with a glass center stem and five very beautiful, translucent, opal glass shades. The shades are the original slip shades for the fixture. They have a subtle wheat design moulded into the glass. They provide adequate but soft ambient lighting for a dining room or bedroom. This airy wrought iron chandelier has three arms and silky lampshades which you can remove if you wish. The strapping on the ceiling canopy and the candle supports pay homage to the Arts and Crafts era. Original red paint finish appears on some of the iron elements. There are also 6 little flowers at some of the connection points of the centre post. This black wrought iron chandelier would look impressive in a French country kitchen or dining area. It has iron floral and leaf details. The fixture measures about 20" in diameter and has a drop of about 37", excluding the black silk tassle which we have added for extra drama. As shown, the fixture is equipped with chandelier candles and black parchment candle shades which are gold lined. This is the most dramatic effect. You could lighten the look for spring and summer, by removing the shades altogether leaving the exposed candles with chandelier bulbs, or you could add different shades. This is an attractive and versatile vintage light fixture which can be made more or less formal by dressing it differently. Here is an Art Deco (1920's) ring shaped fixture which would be ideal for illuminating a kitchen island or perhaps a games table. It is made of cast iron with original red and green paint details, and has its original ceiling canopy. It has a drop of about 28" to the bottom of the ornamental tassle, and a diameter of about 16". It looks best, we think, with specialty light bulbs such as those shown. This beautiful Art Deco cast iron fixture is copper plated (original finish) and is very nicely detailed. It has a matching ceiling canopy and five arms with candle sockets. The fixture has a quiet but substantial look in high Art Deco style. These early electric, solid brass fixtures are getting harder and harder to find. This one is elegant in its simplicity and requires high ceilings for best effect. The total drop of the fixture as shown is 48" and the width 24". We of a choice of glass lamp shades as shown on this fixture, either etched, ruffled antique shades, one of which is shown in our last photo, or the simple, elegant shades shown in the upper photos. A cute little 1920's brass chandelier for use in bathroom, bedroom, hall or other small room. This fixture has etched original shades. Folks that purchase in the store can choose different vintage shades or art glass shades if they prefer. We try to accommodate your color and style preferences. We have a couple of these small twin-pan chandeliers in stock and ready to go. Getting more and more rare, these early 20th centure fixtures are simply delightful in Victorian homes. This one is made of solid brass and fits flush to the ceiling. The fixture has a drop of about 17" and width about 24". We have added three acid-etched lamp shades with a delightful soft lemon color flashed on the floral segments. This fixture looks gorgeous on or off. Here is a pretty decorated Art Deco light bowl suspended by its original brass chains and ceiling rose. The glass shade is not marked but these types of Art Deco bowls are almost certainly European, either French or Czech. We have a couple more of these bowl shades in different colors, without the decorative design. This sparkly little crystal chandelier would be perfectly romantic for a bedroom, smaller dining room or larger bathroom. It is of the type referred to as "Paris Apartment". It has five curved glass arms with crystal drapes between, a fancy glass central post, 38 crystal tear drops and a cut crystal ball hanging below to finish it off nicely. It measures approximately 15" across and is approximately 24" in length. This elegant chandelier is best seen in person. We apologize for our photo and its busy background. The chandelier has five cut glass arms, each of which has a cut glass bobeche, candle with light bulb and an etched glass hurricane style lampshade. The chandelier is adorned with many crystals and finished with a nickel-plated (silver color) chain and ceiling cap. The chandelier measures about 18" across and as shown, hangs about 30" in length. Here is an unusual early hall fixture made of solid brass in original condition. As shown, the drop measures about 30" but the chain can be shortened a little. The fixture looks great with a speciality iridescent or amber bulb, but can be used with a standard chandelier bulb as shown here. This fixture would be ideal for a larger hall. This Art Deco hall fixture is made of copper plated cast iron. It has an original Art Deco custard glass, upturned shade to provide soft bright light. Here is a pretty 5 arm chandelier with a French country look. It is about 18" wide. As shown, the chain is 31" long but could be shortened or lenthened to suit. An attractive feature are the 5 little lampshades made of red and old gold toile fabric featuring exotic desert scenes with camels, elephants and palm trees. It looks like the French Foreign Legion has come to dinner! This beautiful Art Nouveau or Edwardian solid brass fixture is distinguished by its filigree and caramel slag glass shades. It is rare to find a set of 3 of these shades in good condition. Chain length is adjustable. This fixture is a beauty for your Edwardian or Mission decor. Here is a stunning Art Nouveau slag glass and bronze, floral filigree ceiling fixture, now rewired to today’s standards. Each of the bent slag glass panels is in perfect condition, and is a delicious, rich caramel color casting a golden glow at night. The fixture hangs by three chains from its bronze ceiling bell. The drop is about 18". The fixture would look perfect in any older Art Nouveau, Arts and Crafts or late Victorian home and would be an absolute joy to look at each evening. For our instore customers, here is a decorative and affordable vintage chandelier. It has a ceramic post and bobeches which have a charming floral printed decoration. The arms are brass. The fixture is probably of Italian origin. It has been recently rewired to current standard and is ready to install. Here is another pan chandelier from the 1920's. The chandlier is solid brass, except for the hanging chain. The pan itself retains its original dark brown paint which highlights the bright brass accents on the arms and socket holders, tassle, ceiling bell, and pan top. The drop of this fixture as shown is about 22". We will shorten the chain to suit your needs. We stock a variety of these mid-century modern flush-mount ceiling fixtures featuring glass shades on metal bases. These fixtures are great for rooms with 8 feet ceilings and complement today's appliances. They provide direct task light over sinks and islands. They are very affordable, generally priced between $35 and $60 each, depending on style. The shades are priced individually so, where compatible, you can mix and match with the bases. Sconces and Wall FixturesHere is a nice pair of copper-finish over cast iron sconces. Nice for a warm glow over the fireplace. Here is an attractive mission era sconce with a hammered, patinated surface and attractive details. We are supplying the original lampshade which came with the sconce. The sconce would also look fine with just a chandelier flame bulb for a different look. The sconce is marked on the back S&A Pat. Only one of these sconces is shown but we have a pair. They are vintage brass sconces with frosted and etched glass lamp shades. Pretty for bedroom or bathroom. Items SC16 and SC17 are twin candle sconces made of cast iron with brass accents. The iron has been lightly buffed to give a soft, grey lustrous surface. The contrast between the two metals is attractive. These sconces have a somewhat gothic appearance suitable for modern or period home decor. Item SC17 is now SOLD. Here is a vintage Lincoln brand sconce with original painted detail in cranberry and green colors. Note also the two little flowers projecting from the opening in the design at the top of the sconce. These give a whimsical two-dimension effect. This is a pretty sconce for a bedroom or bathroom. Here is another Lincoln sconce which we have refinished to show the fine cast iron details. This pair of iron sconces with original red and green paint detail would look very suitable with Arts and Crafts gothic decor, or Euro country decor, or anywhere in your house. Each socket is individually keyed. This wall lamp would be cute for a cottage or for a little boy's room. It features a wood panel with rope detail and a painted metal boat which stands out from the panel for a three-dimensional effect. It is completed with a vintage fabric shade. Art Deco slip-shade sconces with the original shade are quite rare. Here is an attractive one, which would look stylish in a period Art Deco decor or in any modern decor. It is made of bronze finished, cast iron and has its original frosted glass shade. We show only one of these pretty fixtures but we are selling a pair. The sconces are early solid brass sconces with original Arts and Crafts style glass lamp shades. You can use these sconces in a downturned or upturned position, depending on your needs and preference. As with all our light fixtures with glass lamp shades with standard fitter rims, we offer a choice of vintage, new or art glass shades. Here we show one of a pair of sconces dating from the early Art Deco era of the 20th century and made by the Moe Bridges Company of Wisconsin, USA. They have their original painted surfaces. These are a pretty pair from a well-known manufacturer, and they will grace your home. This large single sconce has an imposing French chateau look. It is made of solid brass with a soft old patina. Each candle is supplied with a black parchment lampshade with gold interior. Here is a pretty single sconce made of solid brass with original patina. Each of the two candle arms has a glass bobeche and petite, antique, green silk shade. This pair of cast aluminum sconces has very Art Deco detailing. They are painted green in what we believe to be original paint finish. Here is a wall sconce in high quality solid brass, which has a quiet, simple, elegance whether on or off. It is very affordable and will grace any spot which needs focal lighting. We offer a charming pair of French sconces featuring winged cupids or angels, with cherubic faces. Each sconce consists of a solid brass frame, with three tiers of spear crystals, enclosing a candle light. The light socket is sized for Christmas tree lights, so you can change the color of the sconce light with different seasons. Each of the sconces measures about 7" wide and has a total drop of about 9". They have been wired to current standards and are ready to install. Table Lamps and Floor LampsFor the Blue Mountain Pottery collector who has everything, we offer just one more! This pair of mocha table lamps are rare and desirable. They stand about 25" high to the tops of the lamp shades. The ceramic bases are 14" high and about 10" wide. The form of the base has a very satisfying proportion and pagoda-like shape. Although dating from the 1960's, these lamps still stand perfectly well in a contempory interior. Here is a West German ceramic lamp base with a red, stylized, Picasso-like horse. The base pottery is the 1970's lava matte glaze while the red horse is glossy. The horse motif really pops! We have replaced the old wiring in the lamp with electrical components which conform to current standards. This is a large table lamp which would be expensive to ship. This pair of English oak lamps dates from the Arts and Crafts era (late Victorian). We have rewired and refurbished the lamps, and given them newer lampshades, so that they can enjoy a second life today as an elegant pair of candle lamps. As shown, the lamps stand 45 cm. high. The oak is nicely turned and detailed. The shades are black with gold satin interior and decorative cord trim. The lamps would also look good minus the lampshades, with a pair of flicker bulbs which we sell in the store. This pair of classic table lamps will grace your home. They stand about 30" high as shown. The gold iris decoration is hand-painted and artist-signed on both lamps. When we took the lamps apart to rewire them, we found the marks shown in photo 3 on the ceramic base. Heinrich Bavaria, we understand, was the forerunner of Villeroy & Bosch. The elegant lampshades and brass finial are new additions to the vintage lamp bases. This single table lamp reminds us of Imari pattern porcelain. However, we can find no marks to indicate its exact pattern or maker. The lamp base is hand-enamelled in a panelled oriental design and stands on an attractive claw-foot brass footing. We have provided a new lamp shade and brass finial. As shown, the lamp stands about 30" high. Here are two charming figural lamps for the bedroom or sitting room. We show only one lamp but there are two. They feature vintage ceramic birds on metal bases. We attribute the lamps to the 1940's when exotic birds and aubergine and lime colors were popular. The new lined fabric shades with fringes give a nod to Victorian decor. The total height of the lamps is about 26" high. They make quite a statement but still look fresh and light. Strictly speaking, these lamps are not a pair, because they are identical rather than being mirror imaged. Sorry, the lamps are for in-store shoppers or local delivery only. This huge lamp demands a special focal point in your home. The ceramic urn on wooden base itself stands 23" high and with the lamp shade as shown, the lamp is almost 4 feet high. The lamp base appears to be hand decorated with an impressionist cobalt blue street scene, with an avenue of trees on the back and the lady face as shown. There are applied gold accents. It is tempting to attribute the design to the Ginori Company, but we don't see any marks. Here is a very hip black panther lamp. He is ceramic with three small planter pockets so that you can plant a realistic miniature jungle for him to prowl in. He comes complete with his original fiberglass lamp shade. Here is a very cool lamp in orange glass with chrome accents. It has a rather rare half-shade which allows you to place the lamp on a narrow credenza against the wall, yet still retain the look of a large important accent lamp. This cute little retro table lamp features a fiberglass spaghetti lamp shade on a wood base. The lamp shade is made of fiberglass white stringing with amber-gold decoration. It has a small hole in the top to let the heat from the light bulb escape. The shade is about 8" across and it is in good condition. The base is probably teak wood. It has three arms which support the shade. The lamp has the original electrics in good condition. There is a beaded on / off pull chain. For the cool set, we offer a 1960's pole lamp which fits today's conventional 8 ft. ceilings by means of an expandable spring mechanism inside the pole. The lamp has two fiberglass spaghetti type lamp shades which are suspended from teak arms. The lamp has a three-way switch enabling you to have either lamp or both switched on. This electric lamp gives the nod to earlier Victorian Gone with the Wind style, oil burning parlor lamps. The decoration is purple and lavender morning glories on a yellow ground. Just beautiful! We are always pleased to offer an Art Deco torchiere floor lamp with its original glass upturned shade still in place. They are rare. This one has a cool, calm, elegant look. The brass finish base is nicely accented with an light green, alabaster insert. Here is a cool, affordable, 1960's floor lamp with two fibreglass shades in metal cages - a great decorating piece at very little cost. This lamp looks fabulous when lit in a dark corner. Each light has a pull chain for added versatility. Other Lighting and Lighting AccessoriesHere are a couple of old switchplates for push / pull light switches. On the top row are two bevelled mirror switchplates with some loss of silvering as you can see. The bottom double switchplate is plastic. Art Glass Lamp ShadesPlease use a low wattage bulb (preferably 25 watt, no more than 40 watts) to illuminate your antique shade. Here are a beautiful pair of 1920's Carder era Steuben glass lampshades, made in Corning, NY. They feature a gold aurene interior with a calcite white exterior and trailed vine gold aurene decoration. They are not signed (calcite shades often were not signed) but are guaranteed to be authentic Steuben. Condition is good with a few fitter rim flakes. These have a 2.25" standard fitter rim. This is a beautiful and rare old survivor from the Art Nouveau era of early electric lighting. The shade has curved (bent) greenish slag glass panels held in by metal tags. It has a decorative leaf / flower metal collar at the upper (fitter) edge. The lampshade has a 2.25" standard fitter rim. It would be most effective as a small hall light (ceiling fixture), or on a table lamp where decorative ambient light was needed. This pretty pink glass shade appears to be hand blown since tool marks are evident at the crimps on the lower ruffled border. The glass is white outside with a pink shading to white interior, probably heat-reactive glass. We are not sure of the origin of this lampshade, possibly Fenton, but possibly an earlier English shade. Pretty carnival glass shades were made around 1910 to 1920 to compete with the more expensive hand-made Tiffany lampshades. This carnival glass shade features a hand painted landscape scene with added glass frit to represent snow. We attribute it to the Northwood company working in the USA at that time. Shades like this are rare and desirable and look beautiful when lit. Here is an early cranberry and opalescent glass lampshade. It is probably English and mold blown to achieve the hobnail effect and ruffled edge. There are a couple of minor fitter rim chips which don't show when the lampshade is installed, and some of the decorative gold paint at the edge has worn off. The remaining gold applied paint could easily be removed if you prefer. This delicate and very pretty shade is a grand old survivor from late Victorian days. Here is a large Art Deco era schoolhouse type glass shade in white with tan accents. It has a 12" fitter rim and is in perfect condition. What you need to accomodate this beauty is a 12" fitter gallery and hanging mechanism. This gorgeous antique glass lamp shade measures 9" long, 8" wide at its widest part and it has a 3" diameter fitter rim. It is in excellent condition. It is made in three layers, a thin inner highly reflective white layer, a thicker interior white layer and an outer softest pale pink matte-finished layer which has been acid-etched back to white with a pretty cameo type figure. The figure is a classical Grecian woman in profile and she appears on back and front amid decorative swags and ribbons. The bottom of the shade has a circular acanthus pattern. The design springs to life when the shade is lit. If you wish, we can fit up the shade as a pendant drop fixture with vintage brass fittings. This will be at extra cost - please enquire. A very similar shade is featured on the cover of Jo Ann Thomas "Lighting Fixtures of the Depression Era Book II", in a pendant drop fixture. This vintage glass lamp shade is wedge shaped with red EXIT signs fired into the glass on two sides. It measures about 6" square at the back and projects forward about 7". It has a 3" diameter fitter rim. The shade is made of clear glass cased over white milk glass. It is in good condition but has a couple of nibbles at the fitter rim which will not be seen once the shade is mounted in a shade holder. The shade is intended to be wall mounted. Other Stock Items
