The shade has panels with hand-painted roses. This combination of lamp and shade gives a pretty French country look. It is priced at $ 175. The chocolate brown lamp with decorated antique glass lamp shade is more in the Arts and Crafts tradition. It is now SOLD, but we can find you something similar. This elaborately detailed brass bridge lamp has both late Victorian features in the bird-like gryphen at the top arm and crystal drops on the stem spacer, and Art Nouveau features in the leaf motifs, swirling stem decor and fancy base. So we have called it Edwardian and be done with it. The date of the lamp is circa 1907, which is the date on the collar of its glass lamp shade. The lamp would have been expensive in its day, and is rare, desirable and incredibly elegant today. This bridge lamp is really special. Art Nouveau in style and origin, it features a very decorative brass lamp base with swivel head, and an attractive bent or curved slag glass lamp shade. With its sunflower motifs on the lamp base and arm, this bridge lamp has Arts and Crafts sensibility. The lamp is heavy iron with a copper finish. The glass shade is branded on the fitter rim and has a patent date of 1907 which is period with the lamp. A nice addition to your Bungalow or Mission home library. This late Art Deco bridge lamp is painted black and has geometric motifs on the base and bridge arm. The geometric motifs are again repeated on the original lampshade which came with the lamp. Very cool. |
