It is made of iron with brass accents, a highly satisfactory design combination. The five arms each carry a mica shade which lights up with a warm golden glow. Both end finial and ceiling cap are original to the fixture and integrated with the overall design. As with all our fixtures, we have replaced the electrics with new components and have added a ground wire. This fixture is very heavy. The width at the widest part across the shades is 18" and total drop of the fixture is 32". Perfect for a bedroom or nursery, this vintage ceiling fixture has a glass stem, jade green glass lampshade and new brass finial with oriental motif. This is a charming set of matched pink glass ceiling light and lamp with grape motif and nickel silver accents. The pink glass when lit provides a warm soft glow for ambient lighting in the bedroom. The set dates from the 1930 - 1940's era. The set has been rewired and the lamp provided with a new socket and electrical cord. We can also supply a small, matching hall ceiling fixture, at additional charge. Please enquire. Here is a six arm, solid brass, vintage chandelier complete with crystals, made in Spain. This type of ceiling fixture is one of our best sellers and with good reason; it is fine quality and very decorative without being too over the top. This particular fixture has been sold, but please enquire because we should be able to source something similar for you. This three-arm chandelier dates from the Edwardian era when light fixtures were simple, elegant and graceful. The brass metal frame has decorative dark and light effects which match the ceiling rose. The three arms of the chandelier have spear crystals to reflect light, and are fitted with original glass hurricane style lampshades etched in a grape pattern. The chandelier has been rewired to current code and is ready to install. This pretty, six-arm, Edwardian era chandelier has a variety of cut glass and crystal prisms. It has large and small, facetted, pear-shaped crystals and some floral rosettes on the frame, and a circlet of spear crystals in the center. When lit, it really sparkles. The chandlier measures about 12" across and has a drop of about 25". Perfect for bedroom or bathroom, small dining room or hallway. Fiberglass was an innovative material for light fixtures in the 1950's and 60's. These type of lamp shades are often referred to as spaghetti shades. They are fun and affordable for apartments, basements and modern interiors. The one offered here has a white shade measuring 15" across. The gaps in the fiberglass filaments provide interesting light patterns. The fixture is flush-mounted to the ceiling with the post and socket assembly shown in the second photo. We have other fiberglass fixtures and table lamps available in oranges and whites. Please enquire. This is a modern and never used, Murano glass fixture. Both the chrome ceiling canopy and the jade colored Murano glass ball still have their original stick-on Italian labels. The fixture is labelled Prandina Murano Glass made in Italy. It has a drop of 23". The glass ball is smallish at 7" across and illumates beautifully into a glowing dark turquoise color. Perfect as an accent for a modern decor. You will sometimes see these fixtures referred to as "Victorian style", for reasons that are lost on us, because they date from the 1920's and 30's. This fixture has a large (16" diameter) heavy glass saucer moulded with a floral design and finished with a slightly iridescent golden surface, almost like Floragold glassware. The glass saucer is flush-mounted to the ceiling by means of a chrome base. We have two of these fixtures available, same size, color, price and same chrome base, but they have different floral patterns. This is a substantial Edwardian era hall fixture made in the Gothic lace style, of iron and nickel plated brass. The fixture has all of its original elements including the decorative end finial and hammered-finish ceiling canopy. The total drop of this fixture is 36". It is quite heavy. This vintage hall fixture is made of brass with a soft golden patina. The frosted glass shade is etched with a grape design, very popular in the 1920's. This hall fixture is made of brass with four elongated glass panels. Each panel is etched with a simple floral design resembling cattails. Perfect for a contemporary or vintage setting. This black wrought iron chandelier would look impressive in a French country kitchen or dining area. It has iron floral and leaf details. The fixture measures about 20" in diameter and has a drop of about 37", excluding the black silk tassle which we have added for extra drama. As shown, the fixture is equipped with chandelier candles and black parchment candle shades which are gold lined. This is the most dramatic effect. You could lighten the look for spring and summer, by removing the shades altogether leaving the exposed candles with chandelier bulbs, or you could add different shades. This is an attractive and versatile vintage light fixture which can be made more or less formal by dressing it differently. These inverted glass bowl fixtures were very popular in Europe in the Art Deco period. They are usually suspended by three brass chains from the ceiling bell as with this one. This fixture features an extraordinary glass lamp shade measuring 14" across. The glass is made of pink and white shaded cintra encased in a clear glass outer layer. The glass bowl is quite heavy. The glass is unmarked but we have had an informed opinion as to its French origin. The total drop of this fixture is longer than the 25" shown, because we have looped up some of the chain in this photo. We can adjust the chain length to suit your needs at no additional charge. Here is a pretty decorated Art Deco light bowl suspended by its original brass chains and ceiling rose. The glass shade is not marked but these types of Art Deco bowls are almost certainly European, probably Czech. The glass in this bowl is quite thin and delicate. We have a couple more of these bowl shades in different colors, without the decorative design. Here is a pretty 5 arm chandelier with a French country look. It is about 18" wide. As shown, the chain is 31" long but could be shortened or lenthened to suit. An attractive feature are the 5 little lampshades made of red and old gold toile fabric featuring exotic desert scenes with camels, elephants and palm trees. It looks like the French Foreign Legion has come to dinner! Here we offer three antique ceiling lights suitable for use in standard height ceilings in homes today. They are also suitable for those squirrely compact fluorescent bulbs that save energy but look ugly. You cannot see the bulb in these fixtures. CF161 has a textured glass, a brass finial which could be polished bright, a lacy brass rim and a 3" high brass pedestal base which separates the glass from the ceiling. The total drop is 6". The width of the light is 12". This light is has been restored and rewired and is priced at $85. The next fixture has pretty custard glass with a brass flange, providing soft, glowing light. It has a drop height of 4" and measures 7" in diameter. The brass plated finial has lost much of its plating, but could be replaced if you wish. This light is item # CF79 priced at $ 45. Our last fixture shown here has a white glass dome light with solid brass flange and base plate. It has a drop height of 4.5" and measures 10" in diameter. This fixture dates from 1910 - 1920. This light is item # CF150 priced at $ 70. Any of these lights would be suitable for halls, mud rooms, bathrooms, kitchens and bedrooms. We stock a variety of these mid-century modern flush-mount ceiling fixtures featuring glass shades on metal bases. These fixtures are great for rooms with 8 feet ceilings and complement today's appliances. They provide direct task light over sinks and islands. They are very affordable, generally priced between $35 and $60 each, depending on style. The shades are priced individually so, where compatible, you can mix and match with the bases. |
